Dr. Brent Crabtree’s life was forever impacted by his first family dog, Emily, a Chocolate Lab that was brought home when Dr. Crabtree was just five years old. Over the next several years, he and his family began raising more Labradors, and it wasn’t long before Dr. Crabtree became fascinated with the health and wellness needs of the dogs. He knew that he wanted to continue learning—for Dr. Crabtree, a career in veterinary medicine was the perfect path!
Dr. Crabtree is from Muncie, Indiana and attended Indiana Wesleyan University to earn his Bachelor’s degree in pre-veterinary medicine and biology. Next, he headed to the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Kitts to receive his Doctorate in animal medicine at the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Crabtree completed his clinical years at Ohio State University, then returned to central Indiana to launch his career as a licensed veterinarian.
Dr. Crabtree became the owner of Pendleton Veterinary Clinic in March of 2017, and has been serving the pets and animal parents of this area ever since. Medically, he’s fond of wound management and surgical work, and makes it his goal to perform procedures in the least invasive and most pain-free manner possible. Dr. Crabtree’s favorite part of the job, though, is meeting pet owners and their beloved companions every day.
Outside of work, Dr. Crabtree is an avid hiker—his favorite memory to date was hiking to the top of the Mount Liamuiga volcano on the island of St. Kitts—and also enjoys running. He and his wife, Kendra, have three children and share their home with a trio of loveable canine companions: a Shih Poo named Macy; Lexi the Great Dane, whose bark is worse than her bite; and a Great Dane puppy, Evie, who loves to chew everything in sight.
